New Social Responsibility Venture for Voluntary and Community Organisations in Wales

South Wales-based organisational development and coaching practice, the Enfys Acumen, recently launched its social responsibility policy with the beliefs that all businesses and organisations have the social duties to:
• Treat employees fairly, equitably and with respect
• Protect the environment for future generations
• Manage the impacts on society and the environment of business operations, products or services and through interaction with key stakeholders such as employees, customers, investors, communities and suppliers.
• Being a responsible neighbour by understanding the local environment and adapting to local needs
• Observing basic human rights

In recent weeks, Nigel Griffiths, Founder of the Enfys Acumen has been discussing a joint social responsibility venture with Cardiff-based web solutions company ComGem to develop a new free online presence for voluntary and community groups in Wales. Nigel says:
“Although the technology to create this kind of facility is readily available it would take significant time to develop and promote, time that we are willing to give freely. However, before we proceed any further we would welcome the input of representatives of VCOs in Wales on whether or not our idea is a good one and should be developed and if so what features might be beneficial.”
The Enfys Acumen has created an online questionnaire to gather the views of the sector and would be grateful if representatives would complete it by 30 April 2007. The form can be downloaded from the Enfys Acumen website or can be received by email from Nigel (mail
