LG Sweeps iF Product Design Award 2007
- AMMAN, JORDAN, December 21, 2006 - LG Electronics (LGE), a leader in consumer electronics and mobile communications, announced that it was recently awarded for 21 of its remarkable products. The awards were granted to LGE by the prestigious iF Product Design Award committee of 2007. Doubling its take from last year, whereby LGE has received awards for 11 more of its products. Earlier in that same year, LGE also broke industry records by winning in 20 categories at the Reddot Design Awards of 2006. This achievement positioned LGE as one of the only two Asian teams ever to win reddot"s Design Team of the Year award.
Held annually, the iF product design award is one of the most highly regarded design-related honors in Europe. During the event, LGE"s "Fantasy" Monitor series, Virtual 5.1Ch Home Theater System, its 3 Door Refrigerator and its mobile handsets were among the products chosen for the recognition.
Commenting on this notable achievement Mr. Sang Young Shin, Vice President of LGE Digital Appliance Design Research Lab said, "At LGE, we have made a strong commitment in developing great design, and the industry has clearly taken a notice,"

LGE"s design leadership extends even beyond its actual products. This year, it won its first award in packaging design for its "Leo Phone". This achievement shows that the LGE brand itself is becoming more and more synonymous with great design.
It is important to note that LGE has six overseas design branches that work closely with its headquarters in Seoul. These branches work to create products that meet the needs, desire and dreams of their customers, and the firm looks forward to receiving more recognition for its notable achievements in the years to come.
