Ninety Percent of Men With Chronic Prostatitis Report Improvement with Repetitive Prostatic Massage and Antibiotics

- ROSEVILLE, IL - December 26, 2006 - The Manila Genitourinary Clinic treats men with chronic prostatitis with repetitive prostatic massage and antimicrobial therapy.

In a study of 30 men with chronic prostatitis, statistically significant improvements occurred in symptom scores and in prostatic fluid white blood cell counts.

The authors recommend a minimum of 10 prostatic massages in order to obtain the most pus-filled specimens for microbial testing, and recommend testing for prostatitis in patients with BPH (benign prostatic hyperplasia).

The study also describes a non-invasive method of obtaining urethral smears.

The full study called: "Symptom Remission And Improved WBC And RBC Counts In Men With Chronic Genitourinary Complaints Treated With Repetitive Prostatic Massage, Antimicrobials, And Medical Therapy," is posted at the peer-reviewed "Internet Journal of Urology" website, www.ispub.com, in issue volume 4 number 1.
