Britons spend more than a quarter of their income on leisure activities


- LONDON, UK, February 01, 2007 - Abbey, a financial services provider has conducted a lifestyle research that shows that the average weekly leisure spending comes around 119.45. The report is an eye opener and points out to the rising trends of leisure spending across the UK.

Sue Hayes, a spokesperson for Abbey, says: "With the value and cost of leisure at such a premium, people need to manage their finances well to increase their disposable income and make the most of this precious time."

A look at the working trends of the average UK person prove that he has only 16 hours of leisure time per week which is approximately two hours per day. But Brits make the most of this paucity of time by spending nearly 314.8 billion annually.
