MARDI GRAS is COMING!
- COLUMBUS, OH, February 11, 2007 - In 1928, the country experienced the birth and creation of a completely new genre of American music, born in Southern Louisiana and heavily influenced by the French Creole and Cajun communities. "Zydeco" music combines the soulful attitude of Jazz and Blues with an upbeat, fast tempo, and incorporates rural touches such as washboards and piano accordions.
The unique sound of "Zydeco" has been hidden from mainstream American society for nearly fifty years. But with the launch of the " Zydeco Experience", DanceTrance Entertainment, a division of EventCo Productions, is proud to bring Zydeco back into the spotlight. Beginning February 17 and continuing until February 20, DanceTrance is honored to partner with top Zydeco performer Dwayne Dopsie, son of "King of Zydeco" Rockin" Dopsie, at the Coeur D"Alene Casino in Worley, Idaho.
Celebrate Mardi Gras 2007 with an internationally recognized entertainer who has appeared on 20/20, CBS Morning, the Discovery Channel, Good Morning America, the Fox Network, The Jamie Kennedy Show, MTV and has been featured in such publications as Rolling Stone Magazine and Offbeat Magazine which named Dwayne Dopsie and the Zydeco Hellraisers "The Best Zydeco Band" of 1999 & 2000. Dwayne Dopsie has also given live performances across the United States and South America and contributed his unique musical talent to several Hurricane Katrina Relief Benefits and concerts.
