MIS CDS releases dates for a series of 'How to' PCI sessions

6th January, 2009 Maidstone, Kent

Many small retailers are struggling to meet the requirements of having to comply with the Payment Card Industry’s Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) due to the complex and costly burden. MIS CDS have created a training session aimed specifically at businesses providing them with the tools and knowledge required to gain PCI accreditation.

The PCI DSS, a set of comprehensive requirements for enhancing payment account data security, was developed by the founding payment brands of the PCI Security Standards Council, including American Express, Discover Financial Services, JCB International, MasterCard Worldwide and Visa Inc. International, to help facilitate the broad adoption of consistent data security measures on a global basis. The standard includes a dozen security controls, including encryption, transaction logging and monitoring, along with authentication and access controls. Companies will face heavy fines and increased transaction rates for noncompliance with the standard.

As a leading PCI Qualified Security Assessor (PCI QSA) Company, MIS CDS is providing a series of PCI “How to” sessions, sharing a step by step methodology enabling small retailers to attain PCI Accreditation with a minimum amount of effort but a maximum amount of support.

The sessions will be performed across the country and will be broken down into a morning session, covering the specific requirements of PCI and an afternoon session examining case studies and discussing the attendees own requirements. Lunch will also be provided.

Morning Session:

- Merchant, Acquirer and SSC relationship
- Scoping the requirement
- The differences between four Self Assessment Questionnaires
- Examples of Transaction flow process and identifying where data may be stored
- Example policies and procedures
- The steps required by a small retailer to attain accreditation

The day is priced at £500 and for an additional £500 the retailer can purchase a telephone consultation service. This service is a 3-ticket telephone solution, whereby the customers can contact a PCI Qualified Security Assessor (PCI QSA) for support and advice during their PCI compliance process.

MIS CDS will be running two taster sessions of the PCI Workshops in February and March 2009, Free of charge.

Free PCI Workshop Taster Sessions:

- Wednesday 11th February – Maidstone, Kent
- Tuesday 3rd March – Basingstoke, Hampshire
